Rowan met rob over pie. Working at the nationally known House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park, MD, he encountered posters for ilyAIMY and wanted to see music that "sounds like the posters look". He tracked ilyAIMY down and began guesting with the band shortly thereafter.

Having built his musical credentials while touring across the country with Renaissance Festivals and his Celtic/Irish/Progressive rock band TInsmith - Rowan is a welcome addition to ilyAIMY. His dumbek, Irish bones, and unique voice help drive the percussive, rhythmic side of ilyAIMY further than it ever went before.

With influences as varied as Ani Difranco, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Soundgarden, and Tori Amos, he's a serious source of trouble. The rapid-fire percussion of his double-handed bones has audience members asking: "What are those and how does he do that?" It's something that contributes to the lively, visual interest of the shows, and it's something you have to see.

He and ilyAIMY's pianist, Sharif, have also found themselves special musical friends and started a Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos cover project called IO.
