First day at Sea.
We’re 4 people in a room the size of my college dorm room. There’s no SPACE to lose stuff!!! I feel like there’s a disaster curve on the organization of this cruise, and I still wonder how it all functions.
It looks like I’m pretty frequently going to be in charge of Grandpa, who has been slow about understanding where we are and was really, really shocked when the “building” we were in sailed away.
At dinner he got really confused and couldn’t remember the word for “tea”. “It’s like coffee, but I should really lay off the coffee”. The tea incident left him frightened and afraid. (he drinks coffee every day, and later, doesn’t remember talking about how he should stop drinking it)…
Scott and Denni are my first… friends? on the boat. Scott sits on the aft deck with me and is glad someone has a guitar along. Launches into Taquila Sunrise. I have the feeling there’s going to be a LOT of Buffet in my immediate future. Being corrected on my pronuciation a LOT on the upcoming harbours. Yup. Took French in high school. Whoops.
“Will you take a picture of me?” Scott’s latest song is interrupted b a pack of 10 people or so, dressed up formally for dinner tonight. Eventually, Scott is handed two cameras, his wife is handed another, and I get two as well. Much much picture taking.
