Not much to say right now. Worn the fuck out. Got up earlier than I wanted to. Rare that I sleep as hard as i did, Heather apparently had a great deal of trouble waking me. Drove to Indianapolis and had lunch at an exquisite little cafe. Incredible sausagey goodness. Incrredible bread.
Playing outside at the Lazy Daze Coffeehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, beings us a couple of new fans and a big ole CAT!
Played the Lazy Daze. Small but intent crowd but my energy was just being drawn out into the air and dissapated. Played under a tree that wanted to and succeeded in sharing its sap with us. All over us. It’ll take forever to get it off the guitars and Heather’s case is crawling with aphids. Then romping over to the Local’s Only and discovering that the Distorted Penguins were playing with us. They rocked our world and I’m so glad we played first. We rocked, they rocked, everybody rocked rocked. The pizza was scrumptious and the sound was okay. It was an awesome surprise to run across the Distorted Penguins so far away from home, and it’s renewed my faith in the fact that many of my fellow road warriors are just cool people..
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good shot of the whole band, but it was awesome to pull up to the Locals Only in Indianapolis, IN and half recognize their RV out front. Then to walk in and find the Distorted Penguins (thank you Amy for introducing us!) inside – well, that was just a really, really welcome thing. They really are just great guys, and amazing musicians – spectacular band. I’m SO glad we went BEFORE them!
Well… I SAY road warriors, but they’re only out for the WEEK. WhatEVER.
Long drive to Terra Haute, Indiana, where we’re crashing with a new friend that we’ve never met before. She left the door open and was in bed before we got here, and said that we can sleep in, though she’d probably leave for work long before we woke up. We are beyond words grateful.
And exhausted.
Worn the fuck out.
In a really nice cemetary between Terre Haute and Toad Hop, Indiana. Yes… he did.
