Amy insisted that I have a birthday. Heather was in cahoots. I went ahead and had one, but we’re still having Christmas for PLOJ! I got an Aliens Powerloader, which is really cool (I am VERY curious as to where Erica managed to snag one of the original Kenner ones!) and got to sit with friends and watch Spaced while eating Macaroni Grill food.
It just doesn’t get much better.
It had been a lot of worse.
Awful accident on 295 last night – I was driving back from Jeff’s place (of Symbiont) after helping him with some web design stuff, and in the oncoming flood of snow I saw people swerving up ahead. Completely dark and half-blinded by snowfall, under and underpass no less, I flash my brights and illuminate a collapsed minivan – fully half the size it ought to be. On the other side of the road with it’s lights flashing was a snowplow with the back bumper ripped off. God knows how fast the minivan was going…
Kind of depressed by that, I nearly got home before I got my flat tire. 3.30am I pull into my mom’s house and curse my circumstances. I take a nap, get up and face the world in which I had to spend the first half of my birthday changing tires, getting tires, dropping off my mom at the doctor, dropping off posters, picking up artwork, picking up my mom from the doctor… I was ready to throw myself off a bridge…
But again, I’m glad Amy and Heather insisted.
