Birthday MADNESS at New Deal Cafe. They ALL have my EYES.

For Valentine’s Day I got together with Jeff for an entirely platonic sound engineering party. Jeff’s our soundguy at the New Deal Cafe, and he’s been recording all of our shows there with a multi-track recorder. I wanted his thoughts on mixing those recordings and also on what we’d been working on in the studio with Matt. It was really good to have someone explain certain things to me, as well as to just have someone else to walk through the recordings with.

He really Loved everything that we’ve done (though he’s more a fan of reverb than I am).

Besides the general Loveliness of having someone that you respect tell you “good job”. Unfortunately, the snow and ice were insane and it cut my travels short. I made my way back among the slippery side streets and listened to myself in grand Narcissistic fashion.

Which I’m SURE is not spelled right.

The snow and ice has just been insane. The crust is thick enough that even big fat ME doesn’t break through, and I’ve been skating on the front lawn in a rare rob rapture.
Heather and I got to make mirangue! Well, meringue and cointreau. It was Looooverly.
