For whatever reason, I didn’t really talk much about HMT’s move in the Journal the first time around – but as I’m going back through, well – House of Musical Traditions has become more central to parts of my Life than I ever expected it to – and of course it’s where I met my wife… so many things just weren’t apparent at the time – from “this is where I meet Kristen Jones” to “because of the move we’ll NEVER KNOW if the rough patch in HMT’s financial history is from moving off the main street of the Great Recession”!
You just never know what’s important at the time… record EVERYTHING. On top of everything, I THINK the picture below makes this the First Journal Sighting of my wife, Kristen Jones!!! (Susan, Brennan, you’ve been following this process – is this true?!?)

Some will eternally question the wisdom of moving the store to the new location – to this day (over a decade later) people will come in, shocked that we’ve moved. They’ll miss the smell (?!?!) or the location or whatever – but by now I think WE know the choice was a good one, and the Westmoreland space is as much a part of the heart and definition of House of Musical Traditions as the Carroll Ave space ever was. Here’s to the next generation.

It’s amusing that you know Susan and I are the ones most attentively watching the transfer, via IP address or whatever. Yes, I think this is the first KJ in the Journal.
Who knows what the best-laid plans hold…
and fyi – it’s nothing creepy – you two are simply the majority of comments on the Journal!
