Hee!  I got to play with a couple of Hispanic guys learning some Flamenco tunes.  He not only plays requinto beautifully but also crafts shoes.  He told me he’d build me new flaming boots if I gave him a good price on a guitar… alas, i have little power.

Oh Heather, I miss you muchly. Susan’s driving and she’s a godsend, Rowan’s been rapping and it’s awesome. Susan thinks I’m text-messaging, but I’m sure she’ll be glad when she finds out I’m actually tapping out a Journal entry. I just got a text-message though – Ash and Nomad have just written to tell me that they’re in line for your show in San Francisco (has anyone ever had to stand in line for one of my shows? do i want them to?) and I’m sure you’ll have a great show…

I’ve begun to receive fanmail for Heather – Dar’s throwing the band name out there and I guess people are finding us – someone reported that Heather’s performance turned the night from “good” to “magical”. I’m so proud of what she’s doing though when OUR friends say things like “I guess Heather’s finally moving on to bigger and better things” it’s a little bit painful.

Tonight Rowan and I played Pop’s Blue Moon and – will wonders never cease!!! – not only did they finally remove the Scary ALF Thing, but we made some money too. The Moon is one of those odd places that NEVER goes right. We always have the details changed on us at the very last second, the time’s never what we’ve been told, rarely do they advertise us on their website – but we always end up having a good time and frankly, tonight I actually could’ve played there for another hour or so. For better or for worse
though we’ve committed to run over to the Duck Tape Duo Trio’s open mic at the Stagger Inn in Edwardsville and so we’ve plunged into the darkness of the Midwest midnight night with no light but the headlights, flashing the broken white line like a Lynch flick.
