April 4th, 2009.

Sweet sweet Stuart and sweet sweet Max.

Sunset’s coming down hard in Belleville, IL and I’m thinking about eyes. The human race had nothing but dark brown eyes until a couple of millenia ago at which point a mutation introduced a recessive (but attractive) trait of pigmentless blue in the eyeball. The humans did what humans do and mated relentlessly with this attractive trait and now we’ve got blues and greys, my own exquisitely beautiful hazel and the gold that Heather and I ran across today. I might simply excuse myself and stare at Seth Horan this evening to figure out what’s going on with his shockingly differently coloured eyes. In general, I want a little ID card that identifies me as an official aesthete so that staring at people isn’t creepy.

Much to my chagrin, Life’s not all mating and eyeballs and a chip in my windshield has suddenly leapt into crackhood. I’ve made an appointment to get it repaired, which will be covered by insurance (my GOD – State Farm’s gonna do me some WORK!!!) but I’m desperately afraid that it’ll expand over the magical 6″ cut-off from repair to replacement in that time. The first appointment is Monday morning at 8am. I’ll be there.

Hopefully my windshield will be intact afterwards.

(yay Illinois games and comics stores are awesome!)
