Heather playing at Columbus Bar in Columbus, IN. T’was a marvelous night out in Columbus, IN though our crowds there seem to be dwindling. What is it?  My beauty is wearing thin?  Still, got some great recordings and I’m eager to mix more of them down and see what I’ve caught!

It’s been a poor morning.  I Journal so I remember, but this morning there’s absolutely nothing that I want to remember – on the other hand, I hate forgetting.

Angry and petty emails, Facebook updates… little things that should be easy to let go that are niggling at me.  A Facebook hack that was easily disposed of but until I figure out how it hit me in the first place it’s going to bug me.  Petty customers back home, small problems here all exacerbated by hearing about huge problems out and about.  Problems abroad, problems at home.  Paranoia, stupidity.  I’m not sure that we die of old age.  As humans, perhaps we simply die of the collective stupidity of the world around us, and we wither and waste when it becomes just too much for us to handle.

I’ve got a friend who posts the solution to all of what ails us: we just need to divide all things equally!  There’s enough to go around!  I wonder who he thinks is going to take care of that.  And then what happens when we all need to pitch in a little bit so that we can handle things like trash collection and hurricanes… I appreciate great ideals and greatly appreciate global consciousness.  You’ve just got to have great ideas and global awareness to go with it.

Securing bathroom doors.  That’s what gold-tipped stereo 1/8″ cables are FOR, right?

I should stop griping.  Last night was a great show, and even though we played 30 – 45 minutes longer than we usually do at Columbus Bar, Heather and I felt like the time just whipped by.  We Loved playing, the food was wonderful, and – probably the greatest contributor – we saw a lot of our favourite people.

I don’t say that lightly.  Lovely people.  Columbus, IN is such an interesting town, especially in contrast to just coming out of Columbus, OH.  It doesn’t have any vibrant energy, but it’s an interesting mix of arts and styles and little pockets of otherness.

Of course both towns are lacking in one thing.

They’ve got beautiful women, they’ve got music stores, they’ve got great food.  Both towns are completely lacking in hills.

This morning after I finally stopped borrowing drama from ignorant people and hyperbolic newscasters, I pulled our PA together to track down and eliminate some sound issues we were having last night.  I tracked them down.  I eliminated them.  Artem?  Brennan?  Yes. I understand TRS cables now.  You were right all along.  But then why the HELL do they sell “speaker cables” packaged with powered speakers that AREN’T TRS cables?

Oh.  Cause it was Best Buy?  Yeah, that might’ve been it.

Whoops.  There I go griping again!

Sunday night we went to Church on the Rocks at the Monkeywrench in Louisville, KY.  My only lament was that the Bliss wasn’t there to play host.  Still, John (above) did a great job running the night and invited Heather up to do an impromptu drum jam.  Yes, this is redundant.
