We sure haven’t seen much winter weather this year. I’m enjoying my snowfall as much as I’m able for the couple of hours that it’s around. Some nights it’s just good to sit in with your guitars and some Oreos and a bunch of pens and paper. I’m actually moving on writing new material and it feels very, very good. Unfortunately I was down here and forgot to have Valentine’s Day. On the other hand Kristen was out practicing with another band… so I guess we’re even!
Back in the studio: Steve Steckler, our engineer at Asparagus Media in Takoma Park, MD has introduced me to his Marshall and we’re experimenting with different tones for my song “A Perfect Day”. Feedback (both good and bad) ensued. I really admired Steve’s electric sounds on our friend David Potts-Dupre’s most recent album and I’m trusting his creative little earballs… Heather working her way through some harmonies for “A Perfect Day” at Asparagus Media Studios in Takoma Park, MD. Steve and I working on some specific chunklets. I’m very convinced that the thing we’re looking for is RIGHT THERE. Maybe.
My audience at my first Old Bowie Town Grille Open Mic. Bolstered by fans of my featured artist, the Great Outdoor Fight, and a random birthday party we had one Hell of a fun night. Of course, I was never worried about the first night – I’m worried about the SECOND week! the Great Outdoor Fight. It’s going to take some practice before I master the lighting at OBTG. The rest of the room which just happens to include the performers. We had a fantastic little jam session form up including one of my first-ever saxophone players!!! (actually, this may BE my first-ever sax player….?)
