March 2nd, 2013.

Entering New York City never quite looked so mysterious, but this day as we skirt the skirling snow the Big Apple just looms out of the mist.
LEA at Teavolve Cafe and Lounge in Baltimore, MD.

I’m a tired beest. We’re making our way back from a late-night show in Northern Virginia at Parallel Wine Bistro and have just crossed the Maryland line. It’s 12.45am and if we were touring we’d probably be crashing somewhere much closer to the venue.

But we’re within four hours of home and GENERALLY when we’re four hours from home we bloody well go there! We’re playing a show tomorrow in Baltimore where we’re probably going to experiment on our audience a little bit. We’re going to throw down with a new version of Revolutions Per Minute (closer to the version that will go on the new CD), we’ll probably try out my latest song, Elephant Joke, and if we’re feeling very daring and like my falsetto can face it, we might even try out Perfect Day – another new rob song. The latter’s existed for a while but it’s hard to find good venues for a slow bluesy tune that tells the story of a pathetic man who even fails at his own suicide….

Time for one more open mic at Old Bowie Town Grill before heading to NYC!

In any case, it’s a late night and I’m TIRED. We tried two new rob songs tonight and a new Heather tune and they were not without their hitches, but I felt like my voice was comfortable with my new songs and that I didn’t drop TOO many lyrics (the bane of my existence). Elephant got people moving around a little bit and Heather found a good groove with it and even I must admit that my guitar jam on Perfect Day is kind of awesome.

Well, I mean, *I* had a good time.

Aaaand I got to see Claudia’s tattoo! Life’s pretty good right now! Can’t wait to play with the band tomorrow. Er. Today. Er… 16 hours or so.

Meep!
