Man, for as much as the Snowquester failed to materialize in jolly ole’ Maryland, Delmar, NY DID have a quick brush with the white stuff. Enough that snowmen sprung up by the dozen… It’s like a damned Neilds song out here! 
Okay, this monster wasn’t exactly lyrical or a reminder of childhoods’ past. This Snowgre was fearful to behold and no doubt lurched around the neighbourhood eating household pets while we slept.
An unfortunate note, especially after having JUST written about a couple of venues as well as how we’ve witnessed the “Economic Downturn” across the country – I’d sort of hoped that the first wave of effects would be the last one that we’d really see – the huge number of bars and coffeehouses that have closed up shop and are no longer there for us to return to (most evident as we most recently tried to book a trip through the Carolinas) – but this morning we got the one-two punch that Victoria Station will no longer be able to support Live music (less an overall economy thing and more a result of an ASCAP lawsuit, I believe) and that Coffee Amici will no longer be able to provide lodging for artists coming through. Pinch pinch pinch.
We just passed Sandy Hook, CT. My thoughts go out to those families. There’s not much else to say. The car’s quiet.
