Headed west on 70. Again. No complaints – it’s a beautiful drive and we’re going to a beautiful place, but it’d be nice to teleport. Or to have some spectacular railgun zerorail maglev train that transported us there. But then we’d miss getting to see all these happy dogs with their flappity ears grinning as they edge their heads out the windows of the cars we’re passing.
The last couple of days have been filled with good news and bad news and good news again. Our friend who’d been shot through the neck is home from the hospital. Sharif and Joanna are still in the hospital with the new baby born at 3 or so this morning and everything there looks good – but Syria’s blowing up and we feel it ought to get blowed up further – and maybe we’re right – but no-one’s willing to press the button, pull the trigger… just willing to point that finger. The CDs presales are out and I’m really enjoying seeing pictures of people holding the new album. It’s just cool to see it out in the wild.
Brown leaves have fallen in our garden, but it’s going to be hot again this weekend and the weather looks to whipsaw till fall.
The mountains of western Maryland are looming ahead of us, but my heart yearns for REAL mountains and I am so excited to begin planning the touring of 2014 to see where and when we’ll see said mountains. ilyAIMY, coming to a town near you…
