December 11th marked something pretty momentous in our little corner of the Baltimore Music Scene : the last show of the Honest Mistakes. Chris and Joylene are moving to Erie, PA and with that, the band shall go their separate ways. Chris and Joylene Ehrich will of course continue playing music, but the beautiful electric pop thing that was the Honest Mistakes shall be no more.
Well, the end of an era is never quite as clean as you think it’s going to be – and 32 hours after leaving the Honest Mistakes’ last show at the Ottobar, I was setting up to record one last Honest Mistakes EP in their drummer’s basement. It was a grueling 8 hour session but at the end of it I had something I was kind of blown away by. I can’t wait to mix this down….
