December 17th, 2018.

It was a very, very busy weekend of shows – and every one of them was different, and there was a lot to Love about each of them. Friday night was an artsy, strange and wonderful celebration of the winter solstice. Saturday found us playing a wine bar in Frederick where we have a small but devoted fanbase, and Sunday found me playing solo in College Park at a new venue, discovering wonderful new crossovers.

Hell, we could put Monday in here too, right?

Friday night found us at the Windup Space in Baltimore for a Whimsical Winter Ball. T’was a rainy night in Charm City, but a good time had nonetheless. Unfortunately, I’ve decided I’ve grown too used to NOT having heavy-ass feet and probably don’t want to play in my boots anymore. I felt leaden and rooted.

There don’t seem to be any pics of us from Saturday night’s show at Vini Culture in Frederick, MD (which is okay, you’ve seen us) but here’s the fig dish with the fig syrup that got all up in my beard and caused the special-edition “It’s STICKY” remix of Natural 20 (“My friends all say, how’d you GET so sticky?!?!”) of which, fortunately, there IS NO RECORDING.
The cat knows it’s Christmas time. He’s like “BRING MY FISHY GOO!!!!”

Below – Sunday December 16th had me playing a singer/songwriter showcase at Milkboy Arthouse in College Park, MD. Underpopulated, but a really great night. I must admit I had way more fun than I should’ve. Rowan joined me but that wasn’t the best part. It was hosted by Annette Wasilik and THAT wasn’t the best part. I was on my game in front of Rupert Wates, AND I got to see Rupert Wates – and THAT wasn’t the best part!

The best part was sharing a stage with Eric Scott – a bass-playing singer/songwriter that I’ve known for a long time, but don’t think I’ve ever shared a stage with. I beatboxed for him, he played bass for me. It was really, really good.

Yeah, I think we can include tonight in here too. Teavolve’s last open mic of the year with Rupert Wates. Lots of regulars, a couple of new people, a packed list, a good house.
