I don’t know that I need to say too much about it. After many a year, Heather and Richard got married in a small ceremony in her brother’s backyard in Sterling, VA. It was catered by our friends at Parallel Wine and Whisky, where we’ve been playing for years, and we were honoured to find out that the staff fought over who got to come and do the job – and that the head chef, who NEVER works the food truck, came out personally to make us bacon lollipops and lamb sliders…
… but listen to me like it’s MY wedding! It’s the wedding of my closest friend, who I’ve Lived out of a car with, who I’ve played music with for almost 20 years, she’s my ex and my future and now officially has a whole other family! *I* didn’t tear up but I came damned close. Fortunately, I had a job to do and a sound mixer to do it with and that kept my whirligig emotions in check.
It was a beautiful day, pleasantly windily dramatic, bright and sunshiney and filled with family and friends.
Well nupped Heather Lloyd, well nupped!
Justin, Heather’s brother, officiated in a DAZZLING suit. He was also in charge of letting you know how to get out of the open air, no wall tent. Cause Virginia law. Brennan rolls in with Mitchell. Sharif and his wife plus Finn. Plus Lex. Joanna demonstrates how to model shoes to Kora. Jade got to bartend! Good to see Joey – he’s been on tour. Glad he made it home in time! The Parallel food truck was in ill-health… but it got here… Allie took good care of us. Rowan and Ella. Stereotypical bride shepherding young children pic. Ella happily sharing her doll… … except… Yeah, I’m gonna need that back, head-grabber.
