May 6th, 2019 – Teavolve.

Feels dangerously close to summer outside. Before Teavolve kicked off I walked around the block, mostly to cool down after a tinge of road rage had threatened to break my mood. I almost hit a tiny kid riding one of those stupid scooters with a slightly older kid hanging off the back.

Just after a light turned green on Central he swerved into the highway and cut off the SUV to my right, swerved a bit and fell into my lane, recovering as I’m braking hard. This kid was MAAAYBE 8 years old? Guns the little electric motor, pulls into the two lanes of oncoming traffic, ducks between the lanes for a block or two and then cuts left on to another street.

I feel like I’m yelling “get off my lawn” when I say “those scooters are gonna kill someone” – but I think 8 year-olds should legitimately NOT be on my scooter lawn on a 35 mph road!

Sigh. Old and grumpy.

Turtles.

My featured artist tonight was a no-show so we had a little more time for ourselves – made even better by not just the presence of Sharif, but also cause we had Joey Jenkins in the house!
