Teavolve. No feature tonight. It’s okay. We filled the time. Somehow. It was a great night.
I shouldn’t say “somehow” – I mean we have SO MUCH GOOD TALENT that I don’t really need the features, but I feel like it’s my way to make sure there’s a home for the road warriors and newbies and friends and whoever else… some people do that by signing their friends up in advance, but that’s a dick move.
In any case, my feature canceled, and though Matt Nakoa was in town, I’d lost HIM to the clutches of Sofar (and yet, I’m not angry at Sofar people, deal with it!) – and if I’d known Astronauto was coming through I could’ve HAD a feature – whatever, it was all good. Great jams (Dave Benham and John of Astronauto mesh really, really well), great songs. John himself was visiting because he’d just bought a house and, frightened by his own adulthood, decided he needed to go Live on the road for two weeks and just play open mics.
I see his point.
Efforts to webcast almost immediately failed. I THINK there wasn’t enough bandwidth, but on top of that my laptop freaked out… and I’ve got a recording session with this thing later this week!
