The Takoma Park Folk Festival Sneak Preview show at El Golfo in SIlver Spring MD did NOT go as well as it did last year. It was definitely comparatively underpopulated and one of the artists was very incommunicado, showing up in an unexpected format.
That being said, the musicianship on display was awesome, and the sound wasn’t too bad either (thank you, thank you).
The Takoma Park Folk Festival occupied the majority of my mental bandwidth for most of August – and this was a welcome hands-on part of the event, much different from my generally administratorial roles…
