I frankly still feel a little dazed from an absolutely exhausting but wonderful couple of days celebrating New Year’s Eve and the coming of 2020.
The “celebration” all started of course about a week ago with Christmas Eve, and since then it’s been kind of a non-stop countdown till the end of the year, but the Last Open Mic of the Year at Teavolve is invariably something special.
I made sure we had a good feature – someone who’s a long-time friend of the community, and we had a ton of people come out. I let things get a little lax time wise, and we ran a touch late, but it was all worth it. A bunch of regulars, a couple of amazing surprises, and all-in-all a marvelous night.
Now if only I’d remembered to have dinner!!!

The eyes of Chuck the Madd Ox…
A special shoutout to Chuck Maddox – not only is he a great performer, beatboxer, poet and MC – not only does he just SUPPORT great art – but he’s got an undersung superpower capturing the night in his photos. I Love reLiving the night through his eyes – and I’m honoured to have him in the house! Tea house that is.
