Getting set up for the big shew.

I had a short conversation with a friend the other day, she’s more spiritual than I, talking about how the universe often provides what you’re looking for. I’m not really a believer of that, as I know I’m just a small cog in a vast machine… I’ll eventually fail and the rest of the machine will carry right on. The universe has infinite redundancy as it applies to robs… however – I ALSO believe that when you’re open to the feeling that something good could come your way, being receptive is more than half the battle.

Last night was an amazing show, and whether with intent or not, the universe gave this rob-cog exactly what he needed out of Life. Before sound check I’d literally been sitting in the car writing lyrics about how disempowering it felt to know that suicide was cliche, and a couple of hours later I was playing to a packed room of wonderful people, with my favourite friends, doing what I Love most : rocking the folk OUT.

But since I don’t really believe the UNIVERSE is in cahoots, giving me what I need… I’m going to thank my bandmates and our fans. You’re the ones who actually made the music, you’re the ones who actually showed up, you’re the ones who request the songs and yelled “THAT’S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS!!!” and thanks to Ross Martin and One World Coffeehouse for making the night happen. I’ll take y’all over the “universe” any day.

Thanks to our new fan Adele Abrams for the pic of us doing what we Love at One World Coffeehouse at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center in Columbia, MD. Fantastic room, fantastic gear, fantastic night.

On the one hand, I wish I’d set up cameras… on the other hand… I’m glad I wasn’t thinking about. It let me Live in the moment. That being said… I hope some other pictures show up! It was a great night.

We were sooo glad to have all y’all! I would say that the show exceeded my expectations, but my expectations were pretty extreme and you did not disappoint. It was a profoundly awesome display of your individual and collective talents on our stage. We look forward to having you back again soon!
