Today we’re definitely seeing down numbers and beyond that, I’m hearing the news. I think we’re probably going to have shut down for a little bit. It was a great night tonight though, despite the strangeness of it all.
Silver Strings were great, watching Blount play with other performers Monday night and tonight was just wonderful. Susan Rowe continues to just be one of my absolutely favourite writers, and I got what… what I think maybe an absolutely singular event : a good photo of me and my mom!
The El Golfo open mic is made possible through the generous support of Institute of Musical Traditions and House of Musical Traditions. Our featured artists are supported through the generous donations of our audience!

Silver Strings
At the heart of this quintet (quartet for tonight as Pepper is taking care of his brand new kid!) Richard Weil (left) and Paul Loether (right) are old high school buddies. Blount plays harmonica and perfects the lonesome tones of the instrument while Tommy Carroll generally plays lead and the harmonies that come out of these guys is just wonderful. They are an inspiration of not only the fact that I can keep doing what I’m doing for a little while longer, but also a statement on the Lifelong friendships that can come about through music.
