the Mouse King’s Lament.

Well now I AM the proud mouse king
I take the throne
I lead us over battlefield and under stone
Over bone and blood
And minced mouse meat
The rabbit is nothing but a mouse once more

I’;m leading us to ruin
I’m leading us to use
Use by masses poorly understood
Misused meeces breaks the tool

I’m finally falling fell to all the stories that I’ve brought
Upon myself
I’m dying under wagon wheel and under all this weight
I’ve carried nothing any distance
I’ve failed many
I’ve lost my touch
And in three years I’ve aged too much
And I don’t know how they took it from me
I don’t know how they took it from me

Proud mouse king is standing bowed
Broken underneath the rabbit’s weight
Mousehole stolen
Cheese stolen
Locked in cage and twitching
I’ve lost my will for this
I’ve lost my will for this.

And I don’t know how they took it from me.
I’m just tired of all of this.

So as I lay weeping
Next to curled sleeping form
I know that you know what I knew inmy heart
It’s broken down and stalled
Mouse crushed to meat beneath rabbit’s feet
I’ve fallen deep and I wish you hadn’t seen.
I wish you hadn’t seen at all.

Muridae.
