I’m pleasantly beat. Not exhausted necessarily, but ready to be done with my day. Foof. Soo here’s the weekend in pictorial form.
After the madness of Friday in Bethesda, we were quite grateful to be in complete control of our own destiny on Saturday. Give us a nice stage and a nicer view – and we’ll have our way with the audience. Our view from our stage at Red Shedman Brewing in Mount Airy, MD. About 120 people scattered on the hill. Glad we brought some wattage (the act before us had been playing through a Fishman Loudbox that… wasn’t loud ENOUGH) Before setting up we climbed the hill just to look around. It was a beautiful day and a very fun show. Unfortunately the food truck ran out of their wares before we ended our set, which meant that after the gig we were kinda hard-pressed to hunt dinner as post-COVID hours of eateries hath NOT returned to normal. Racing the storms home. Later – fireworks and lightning! Very, very frightning (but beautiful)
July 4th found as at the Takoma Park Gazebo in Takoma Park MD… The first act – Proverbs Reggae – kept people dancing… I kept thinking about how the mood was about to change (but we rocked them juuuust fine) And then AFTER us the Nighthawks took the stage. Sandwiched betwixt two truly veteran acts – it was strange to be the young band – but amazing to watch the people who’ve been doing this allllll their Lives (and perhaps 25 years longer than us!)
