December 4th, 2021. Flat on my back.

Friday evening we wandered on down to Ellicott City to catch the tree lighting. We totally failed to do so. There was a lot of back and forth, they eventually got the mic working. The little chorus of carolers sounded good… (in hindsight I realize that though they were singing Christmas carols, since they were an organized chorus standing in one place, they probably weren’t technically “carolers” – I should look that up)… and we eventually took to just wandering around the shops and exploring, leaving the Christmas tree peeps arguing over whose job it was to bring the power strip…

Must admit to feeling kind of miserable. I got my COVID booster yesterday and it happened to line up with a weekend where I wasn’t doing much, more because I kept putting off than because of intelligent planning – but I’m so grateful.

We heard the cheer from up the street – and the tree DID eventually illume! I like saying the word “illume” but realized I wasn’t SURE it was a word. While I was all up in the Merriam Webster’s dot com (good ole Merry Web’s WEB!) I checked in on “carolers” as well – and much to my shock – I see that a) you can spell it “caroller” (much to the disbelief of Chrome, currently underlining it in red) and b) wandering from house to house is the second definition, SO you can TOTALLY be a stationary caroler, or even a stationery caroller, though the latter will trigger spell-check interrogation AND involves singing to pieces of paper. Bah dum CHING.

I guess every vaccination I’ve gotten over the past year (and weird to think this is my fourth, maybe even fifth depending on when I got my flu shot last year) has left me a little worn out but for whatever reason I wasn’t really taking this one seriously. I got the Moderna booser on top of my Pfizer vaccinations sort of randomly… though I’d read it MIGHT be a more powerful immunization, I’ve read plenty of things that say it might not – it was more a product of timing and the idea of getting all the vaccines that we could get all under one roof (Kristen kicked off with the J&J)… well, whatever, it kicked my ass.

Little Market Cafe in Ellicott City, always beautiful! These last two photos compared to the first one also is giving me phone envy. Kristen’s new iPhone is kicking my old Samsung’s ass and I might NEEEED a new phone.

We had a great time strolling around Ellicott City last night, failing to watch the Christmas tree lighting, picking up an ornament and some wrapping paper and some interesting beverages, sushi and the Christmas Spirit and I felt perfectly fine, but sometime over the night I got some pretty hefty chills, woke up naseous and promptly went the Hell back to bed. I don’t think I actually got up till close to 11am and have felt pretty uninspired all day. Here it is less than 12 hours later and I’m kinda thinking of going (as above) the Hell back to bed.

Yep. Here I am. Flat on my back. Gonna curl up with a book and if I drift off… well, it’s THAT kinda Saturday night.

Nate got his moderna booster Friday, with similar effect. *belated but loving pats* I go get my pfizer booster tomorrow, so if I feel bad at least I can lay on the couch and stare at the snow the next day. Even if it’s just a couple flakes. Even if I have to stare reeeeal hard.
