Well, with Kristen’s father coming home from the hospital today, I think that some things are about to get a LOT simpler. I hope!
I write this as we drive up to Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta again, and even though I write as if I’m exhausted by all the back and forth, I’m VERY aware that I’m VERY fortunate. The hospital is only about an hour away from Kristen’s dad’s house, where we’ve been staying, and he went into the hospital on Monday, we visited him on Tuesday, and today’s Wednesday and though there’d been the assumption he’d only be there for a day, and there was a scare that it might be five, a two night stay seems about right and he’s very, very, very ready to come home.
And now it’s home care. I know that’s not EASIER per se, but it is simpler while trying to also balance connectivity, Zoom meetings, phone calls, emails, etc. Getting data connections that are solid enough for a phone call or to download new tracks from Heather or to update IMT’s website is a little dicey, but it’s a LOT easier when you’re not trying do it while effectively on-call to get in the car and drive an hour…
It’s 83 degrees and sunny, driving to Augusta. It’s February and it’s Kristen’s dad’s birthday and I guess getting him the Hell home is about the best gift we can give him.
