Sunday was a beautiful night, and though it was hot, it wasn’t brutal. Unlike last week, which where we spent our time watching the skies and worrying about the incoming rains, tonight it was clear and blue and… yeah… pretty damned hot. I need to allllways remember my towel.
We had a late-blooming list at ye olde Little Market Cafe in Ellicott City, MD, and a little light (no surprise, I guess, for a holiday weekend) but we had some cello in the house that WASN’T my wife, and Juels Bland popped out and surprised people who’d only ever seen him via the VOM.
This guy kept quacking through the whole open mic. He was very sweet. And then I forgot to get a photo till he was naught but a wheezy butt.Ha – you can’t see this but alllll the lawn chairs are out saving a spot for the 4th of July parade here in Catonsville – they’ve been out for about a month – and the church’s thingadathing says ” they will beat their swords into lawn chairs “.
