I think this is the first time a birthday party’s felt like a BIRTHDAY party since 2020. rob Day at the New Deal Cafe? Yeah – that was the last time it felt “right”. A true celebration, friends hugging one another, the joy of being around one another.
We even ate one another’s food.
Yeah – and I’m going to feel terrible if anyone gets sick, but it IS the advantage of knowing everyone you invite, and trusting them pretty implicitly.
Mark Rooney accidentally ordered a whole fish, part most everything else went according to plan. There was an unwelcome pall hanging over the night, but that’s a tale for another time.
