The rains made the drive down to Takoma Park today look… less than appealing. But the clouds were to the left, and I turned right and I had clear skies and clear roads once I got south of 32.
For others, the roads were less forgiving.
A government motorcade closing a quarter of the Capital Beltway lead to much angst and delayed my feature and a couple of School of Musical Tradition teachers (and their students) as first the weather, then the closure, then accidents caused by the above, and then some guy falling asleep in his car while waiting in the parked traffic caused by all of THAT above…
For all the trouble people had getting there, the night itself was nice and chill. Move along trouble. We don’t need you here.
Jeff Miller from Nashville TN drove from Greensburg Pennsylvania to join us, and it was a Lovely show. Long lost friends like Suzanne Brindamour and Dan Mazer, brand new-to-me people like Ceeka. Dave Eisner, at one point during the latter’s set, leaned over to me and whispered “Wow, THIS is why we do this!”
We do the above “this” every Tuesday. Signup before 7. I start at 7. 7112 Willow Ave. in Takoma Park, MD. robsopenmics.ilyaimy.com for more information.
