Oof. I got in a little bit late and Eisner was NOWHERE to be found, which, with the room completely cleared out like this by one of the weekend events, was a pain in the ass. Fortunately someone had seen the lights in one of the other rooms, I found a music stand, someone helped me lift the trees, and we got everything in order before the night got under way.

We were SUPPOSED to have a Tanner Bingaman as our featured artist this evening, an artist who has JUST moved here from the southern states somewhere, but he called in sick this morning and I was like “Dave, we get ENOUGH people, it’s gonna be fine, we can just have a looser night for once!”

But nooooooo… Dave had to go and call up one of my favourite guys ever and invite HIM to come play.

And I’ve got no complaints.

Welcome Robert Lighthouse, who would probably be an even BIGGER deal if people (myself included) didn’t legitimately mistake him for previously-lost acoustic Jimi Hendrix recordings.

An unreal voice and dirty, passionate guitar. He was in fantastic form tonight and everyone rose to the challenge. One of my favourite nights ever at the Spark.
