December 11th, 2024. The Rain Pours Down + the SPARK w Howling at the Earth.

Well, I WAS going to write about how grey it’s been and about how spectacular the fog had been all of yesterday, driving home through the thick murk down streets that were mere hints of shade and shadow with lurking red gleaming eyes floating above intersections. I might’ve written about interviewing a quilt maker in the ongoing in process interviews of In Process… and I might’ve written about how even though it was a beautiful collection of stories and a beautiful collection of quilts I came away utterly sad. I might’ve written about how my mom came to the open mic last night and it was good to have her home, or about how packed it was, but how good it was, and how amazing my featured artist, Howling at the Earth was.

Tuesday before the open mic I continued my In Process… interviews with these amazing artists down in Washington DC.

But no. The roof is leaking and that is edging all else out of my mind. Phone calls have been made. Buckets have been placed. Photographs have been taken. And the rain pours down.

The rain POURS down.

Okay, let’s step back and NOW even though I don’t know that I feel in the mood to talk about how awesome last night’s featured artist was, I will at least say it.

Last night’s featured artist, Howling at the Earth, was awesome.
