December 24th, 2024. This is Christmas Eve (at the Takoma SPARK open mic w Fold Up Your Chairs).

It ain’t much – but it’s the closest thing to a white Christmas we’ve seen in years! Kristen’s crashing at Jillian Matundan’s (and it sounds like they’re having more fun than should strictly be allowed) so I’m appreciating this on my lonesome.

Happy Christmas eve breakfast omelet to me!

Ha – a little bit of snow last night, just enough to make me blink my eyes as I wake up and wonder what’s wrong with the backyard! Kristen’s got a gig today so I’ll be running down to Takoma Park to run my open mic. Merry Christmas Eve! Betwixt the weather and the date, I have NO idea what to expect.

Relatively chill drive down to Takoma Park, but I’m there extra early because, as above, weather, date, not sure what to expect. I walk in to find that some of the School of Musical Traditions staff have been baking their ASSES off and we have an absurd collection of Christmas cookies for the evening… so SOMEONE better show up!

Someone did!

AND betwixt the weather and the date I’m moody. Moody enough that when this little thing about James Hetfield crosses my feed I legitimately get teary. Me too James, me too.
