It snowed Christmas Eve and I was enraptured. The closest we’ve come to a White Christmas in YEARS. But Christmas Day was subdued. Family matters, Life, the Universe, my own distraction, it all made it feel like it wasn’t REALLY Christmas. It was just an (incredibly welcome) day OFF. My mom went and had Christmas with a friend and Kristen’s dad doesn’t move here for another month plus or so, so we simply had a beautiful, slooooow Christmas Day. And we needed it desperately.
Sheesh – I’d actually FORGOTTEN about something I’d bought for Kristen a while back. A silly, practical gift. I’d forgotten all about it but it meant we spent some time unwrapping things before getting on with getting on with much-welcome NOTHING. Traditional dinner of roast beef stew.
