Tonight’s featured artist, Lydia Martin, has great folk lineage and is known throughout the local old-time scene for her banjo playing, and that’s definitely what Dave was expecting to see tonight. She’d been telling me that she’d been writing her own material and was eager to perform her originals, so I had more accurate expectations.
Lydia Sylvia Martin brought us a trio that reminded me STRONGLY of jamming with friends in college, throwing down heartfelt, emotional songs. A little bit of 90s edge that reminded more than one of us of Mazzy Star.
Unfortunately, our webcast was faced with our worst upload difficulties ever, and I had to replace the garbled, patchy webcast with the locally recorded one. Bah. I guess people have been staying home and staring at the news.
