Bright and shiny day. Happy Sunday peoples. It’s far too early – or rather – I stayed up far too late. Or rather… I’ve been staying up far too late. Last Friday, playing in Bel Air, my cousin came out and saw me for the first time in a year or so and noticed that I looked like I rarely, if ever slept. He also noticed that I have grey hair.
Okay – look. I have HAD grey hair. For a LONG time! I don’t feel like it’s growing excessively and I kind of LIKE the silver. There’s more of it in my beard than I’d like, but that seems to work out for everyone since it gets me a little more interested in shaving.
Hrm. Being cut off by a bright yellow Hummer is SORT of like having a beautiful morning shoved in your face.
Tonight we’ve got one of our first band practices in a very, very long time. For a band that is often purported to be “tight” we don’t manage to get a lot of band practices in – but with the introduction of the cello on a number of tunes for our upcoming CD release – and for that matter, the introduction of a number of songs that we don’t play quite as often – the practice is going to be a very, very good thing. Focusing on having, I don’t know, some of the words right and remembering how we start and stop the song… little things… we should probably do some of that for our audience.
Plus it’s just fun to hang out with the band. Sharif just called and asked us to get there early so we could all play board games. Sigh. I don’t WANT to go to work!
