We have ALL the purple trucks.
sahffi recording a french horn part on Ash’s song “Faisal Goes West” which I’m engineering (and playing electric guitar on) for the soundtrack of a Sudanese short film.

Ugh – stressful gig dream.  I was in front of a large auditorium of some sort with a hundred staring people and one of the most complex nests of mic stands and microphones I’ve ever seen.  All of the mics (there were about four, all of which looked like their ideal position were about halfway up my chest) looked sort of like AT2021s (i.e. none of them looked like they were appropriate for my vocals) and one of them was painted blue.  The soundguy was nestled behind his board and waited for ME to adjust the mics with his arms crossed, glaring at me, over to the side of the stage.  There were a dozen little wingnuts and knobs per stand and as I’d adjust one, another would slip, and as I swung one into position, there would be feedback… and the soundguy persisted in being absolutely unhelpful.

Somehow it was the most stressful dream I’ve had in a long, long time.  My shoulders are still cramped and my heart is still clenched.  Growl.

I’m doing a lot of fun recording projects right now. Here’s Heather listening to playback of her new song “Pollock”.
