My goodness. The frenzy. I Love my job. Sometimes I hate it, but on the whole, I Love it – and if nothing else, I Love the extremes. There’s nothing dull about it. It’s emotionally damaging at times, and spectacularly shattering to the ego on occassion. Physically painful quite frequently, we work so very, very hard at what we do, and the rewards of throwing yourself 100% into something – it’s beautiful to Love what you’re doing this much.

Heather and I at Pesce Grande in Annapolis, MD. The photos are courtesy of Stuart Dahne who spent a lot of time rushing back and forth, trying to find a decent shot. I spent a lot of time trying to blink at inopportun moments. I’m just like that. The show itself was pretty nice, once we got into the groove of winning over the one or two people actually paying attention. We really didn’t have an adequate sound system for the room, and we caused a little bit of angst over how we cobbled our noises together. However, the food was wonderful, and we won over a couple of new converts. Every little bit counts (huge thanks to Janet Griffin for setting us up with the show!)

Ha! And we’d better Love it. Heather and I went to my friend Jason Cox’s wedding this Saturday, and I encountered many, many old friends, most of which I haven’t seen in at least five years, many in much longer. I’ve known most of these people for two decades, and it’s strange to be doing the long-term catch up converation with so many people. I was worried for a bit, that what I think of as an amazing Lifestyle sometimes sounds a bit lacking at first description. “I’m a musician.” “And where are you Living now?” “Oh, here and there, I’m pretty nomadic.” I Live on other people’s couches and out of my car – a couple of months ago I think I felt like I was getting fed up with that. Recent travels have really reinvigourated me though, and I’m excited and hungry for more. I want to do some really LONG trips next year. Definitely get back to Colorado, it’s just so amazing – the people we meet, the things we see – I wouldn’t trade it for anything (not even a $100k / year raise and a million dollars in stocks options, thank you so very much Glovia!).

In any case, the wedding was a beautiful ceremony. Bagpipes and kilts and candlelight. I’m crazy happy for Jason. He’s been in heaven since he met Alissa. Life’s alright all around. (minus everything from my last post, of course).

Kerri and her friend (and new fan) at the Pour House in Westminster, MD on Thursday night. We made him smile. Then we made him grin. It is with these showings of the teeth that we assert our ownership of our fellow humans. To the right, another new friend at the Pour House sprouting ilyAIMY pride. She normally has a taste for punk and such buttons. We like breaking in on that aesthetic. (no, she’s not that fuzzy in person – I’m just making do with old cameras till I can put the money together to get my Sony repaired…

The next morning we raced down to Southern Maryland to hang out with my friend Jason Cox as he got married to his Lovely lady Alissa. I got a lucky shot in with my camera JUST as someone lit off their flash on the opposite side. It was a beautiful Celtic wedding. I’ve known Jason for about 22 years. That’s just amazing.
