Last night, Heather and Keren and I all played at Helios in Raleigh, NC – a tight show to people clustered firmly on the couch in front of us. A good night full of excellent banter. We didn’t record it. Damn. Keren was particularly taken my “stalker song” in which I talked about how I was going to follow people home and leave a LOT of hair in their drains… about how wonderful it was to have a Saturn because everyone else is going to HAVE to stop for gas before they can get away from us. Range is truly everything.
Oh yeah, me sitting with Mariposa in Richmond, VA giving that fine lady a sly, sly look. Crazy return trip through Richmond, staying with Chelsea and Beau again, but this time with Amy Law and Keren Lee in tow. We covered the floors with our stuff and ourselves and crashed exhausted to the floor after playing Cafe Diem with Rowan.
Tonight we played at Cafe Diem in Richmond, VA – the last stop before we get home for the holidays. We met up with Rowan and Amy Law who performed with us to a less than enthusiastic crowd, a disapating birthday party full of very pretty women who slowly became less and less pretty as they became less and less sober. One girl in particular kept vanishing into the bathrooms with various men – I guess she at least kept it to one guy at a time, and she couldn’t have been THAT good with that kind of turnaround time… (well, rather – she might’ve been really good, but IT couldn’t have been that good, seeing how as if things are done right, you need some downtime to get the wobbliness out of your limbs – whatever). It was an odd distraction from the stage.
It wasn’t even HER birthday!
