Toes are exhausted. Ready for one last day at SERFA before the long drive home from Montreat, NC.
Saturday morning we took it kind of easy, crossing the swollen creek to get Mexican food for breakfast before our last day at SERFA.
Oh my.
At SERFA – taking a quickie course in Texas Blues licks from Vince Trankina.
Jamming at SERFA.
We take advantage of a window in the weather to make our scenic escape from Black Mountain NC.
This developed into the strongest rainbow I’ve ever seen!

Yay postcard murals!
Scenic drive home….

My Monday night open mic was kind of incredible, thanks in no small part to my featured artist Matt “Broke” Boland.

We’ve been getting a LOT of rain and the Cat That Is Not Ours spends a LOT of time out in the weather as he seeks to demonstrate his feline independence. Upon his arrival home late Tuesday night he even brought a wee slug back in with him…. (Heather found this on his tail)
Nothing right about this….
Because we had band practice at an unusual time (Saturday afternoon) we tried something unusual – family band practice with the kids! Sharif’s wife came by and kept a handle on their kid and Rowan’s daughter as we worked out songs for our upcoming festival appearances.
Post practice carnage.
