Wednesday night ilyAIMY visited ourselves upon the All-American Valley General Store’s open mic where we were the very, very well-received featured artist. It’s an intensely packed room with delicious sandwiches and a Live webcast and was sort of, in every way, the inverse of the previous night at The Acoustic.
Kristen and her mom, Shirley, packed into the tight environs of the All-American Valley General Store in Seymour, CT.

Man. I remember sunshine. I remember it from somewhere. Maybe a song? Was it in a movie or something? Was it in the beginning of the Lord of the Rings when there was all that glare from the Daystar fiercely illuminating all those garish, bright, summery colours? Was it just the colour of a Lover’s hair?

It sure wasn’t the Hell anywhere on THIS trip. I haven’t had to break out my sunglasses but once or twice and even that had more to do with freakish stage lights than it had to do with anything in the sky.

We’re driving 100 miles East back to the suburbs of Boston to record an internet hi-def show. Maybe there will be bright lights there? Sigh. And cold to boot. Cold and grey and grey and cold. It’s like someone pureed a dog’s nose and reupholstered the WORLD with it.

I mean yuck.

Heather’s iPod is immersing us in the 90s for better or for worse. More the world of alternative-pop music like Lisa Loeb than my world of grunge and metal, but it’ll do.
