Okay – I don’t actually have too much to say. I just wanted to mention that this week was kind of amazing on the open mic front. For all that Monday morning I woke up wanting nothing more than I day OFF – by Monday night I was pleasantly amazed by how awesome our local scene is. And for as much as Tuesday afternoon found me counting down the hours till I would be in my bed again, Tuesday night found me wanting to play “just one more” before starting the drive home, again, really satisfied with just how good the night had been.
Today even, after a full day of House of Musical Traditions madness, the world’s just a good place to exist in, and that’s got a lot to do with the last two nights being SO good. It doesn’t hurt that I got a lot of compliments both on the open mics and my panache on running them. People were happy about the sound, about the welcoming environment, about the smoothness, about the banter – people just went out of their way to not only be happy – but to SAY they’re happy – and for a position that is generally pretty thankless, all that thanks made THIS open mic host feel pretty damned appreciated.
Life is allllright.
