February 4th, 2017.

Fabulous day yesterday – Rowan and I drove up to Gettysburg and joined up with Heather to play Gettysburg Rocks! – an all weekend festival of music put together by “Bald Rob Productions” (obviously not me, I don’t capitalize my “r”, right?) that raises money to fight children’s cancer. It was good to play music, it was good to play for a good cause, it was good to make new friends and fans and to play a new (beautiful) venue.

Oh, also – crawfish beignets with creole-honey butter. So very, very Lovely. Had a little bit of issue with the sound, but mostly the feedback came from the owner insisted he wanted us turned up, so I’ll revel in the fact that it was a sign of Love.

Me and Ella (Rowan’s kid) playing with the dog at the house concert we played in Takoma Park, MD.
the instruments are set up and ready to rock for tonight’s sold out show! February 4th, 2017.

We even played an anti-Trump song to an audience that really seemed to be paying attention to the LYRICS and didn’t get lynched! Huzzah!

Tonight’s show has a lot of promise too – looking forward to playing a sold out night in Takoma Park, but in between the two events we have the sad task of attending a memorial service for our friend Scott Morgan. Fabulous musician, builder and rebuilder of acoustic instruments, and just a joyful guy with an understated murmer of a voice. He is sorely missed. I hope to wrap my brain around this a little tighter shortly, but at the moment… I’m just sorry to lose yet another member of our musical community and part of our House of Musical Traditions family.
