Today shall be a dirty day, but only because we’re not playing a gig and I feel like I need time off from the clean of me every once in a while. Also, the shower in the house where we’re staying here in Nashville has … well… let it be known that those nozzles are NOT knobs. It has a very complex handle / knob / lever control arrangement and while twisting something that I clearly didn’t understand and looking carefully to see if there were any arrows or tell-tale red / blue stripes / dots / insignia of ANY sort got blasted in the face by a high powered stream of water rocketing forth from what I THOUGHT was a knob. After fighting my way through this nipple-erasing bombardment I eventually worked out how the controls worked and even came to enjoy this chest-height assault… but I spent a little bit of time whimpering until I figured out how to get water to come out of a sensible direction at a reasonable temperature.
Tonight we’re going to go see Dave Pahanish, our friend from California, PA, and watch him perform rather than playing out ourselves. It’s nice to have a day off and I’m kind of hiding out from the world. Nashville continues to precipitate on us, though it’s lightened up to a bit of spittle and mist – and I’m hoping that the grey will lift just enough for me to go take some photographs of the General Lee in the sunhine… she’s waiting for me in front of Cooter’s Bar here in Nashville.
