October 24th, 2017 saw Kristen and I running up to Strasburg, PA for a Minimoon –
on the way up we found a roadside farmers’ stand that sold Kristen’s favourite thing in the world : apple cider donuts!In Strasburg, PA Kristen and I stayed at the Red Caboose Motel – in a yellow caboose. Happy Minimoon!a favourite haunt, the Choo Choo Barn!So apparently there are Tuesday night movies at the barn at the Red Caboose Inn. These are probably very popular over the course of the warmer months, but on an autumnal night in late October the woman who earlier gave us our keys is the same woman to come to the barn to see if there are any takers on the movie, and is the only other person with us in the barn as we sit and watch our first movie together as a married couple : Edward Scissorhands!
we get up the next day and have breakfast at the diner built out of an old train car, and then we wander on down to the Strasburg Railroad in Strasburg, PA, wait at Platform 9 3/4 … and then go to one of the REAL platforms to catch the train to Paradise!
