November 27th, 2022. Catching up.

November 20th and we’re recording cello in the Lair.

The world plods forward.

Ha.

That’s a lie.

The world HURTLES forward and I’m sent with it holding on with my hastily sharpened teeth. I’ve been cleaning half-heartedly, moving things around, pulling hair out of my computer and cleaning my action figures. Truly, I’ve become a sedentary animal, and yet there are perks. Long-time friends to catch up with and a safe place to sit and record for other friends.

Regular and not-so-regular gigs, but bookings are going to have to happen soon. Next year’s looking sparse. Mayhaps to tour? SO many have come to rely on us being HERE, and yet I want to leave desperately. Miles and miles done on the interstates and yet coming back to your own bed that night? That’s not touring. That’s a commute.

November 23rd and we’re playing at 7 Locks in Rockville! What what? It’s a WEDNESDAY at 7 Locks? Ha – yeah – the band for the night caught COVID, and since it wasn’t just ANY night, but rather 7 Locks’ 7th Anniversary, they couldn’t just do without and called us because I guess…. you know… we’re the SECOND favourite band? (well, in all fairness, we’d JUST played there the previous Saturday night). In any case, I explained that we did a regular webcast on Wednesdays and that it was really special to us… could we do that from their place? We hooked things in, trouble shot and trouble shat and eventually had to run off the WiFi, but it WORKED! There were a couple of hairy signal moments, but we had a great time and I think our audience really enjoyed seeing us Lair from a non-Lair place. T’was a good night.
Saturday, November 26th found us playing Fat Pete’s BBQ in Washington DC to celebrate PJ’s family’s birthdays and half-birthdays and just generally playing with friends. We had a great time.
Yay! THANK YOU PJ!!!! (but you gotta say it like PJ)
