In the continued theme of “victim of my own success” the SPARK open mics have been pushing well past their initial timing of 9.30, well past the old Teavolve timing of 10pm – and now on to the almost 11th hour o’ the clock post meridian which is getting a little nutsy. Getting home after midnight from my open mic is something that I may be a little too old for.
Or maybe I just need some more coffee – cause honestly, the TALENT is amazing. I need a little mood booster in the middle of the night (strangely enough, thank you Juels Bland – not KNOWN for pick-me-up attitudes, but he was there when needed!) or perhaps a moment of strange Magiks (what operatic choir was jamming in the alleys, in the rain, singing incredibly out in the dark, rainy night of Takoma Park?!?!).
Elena was marvelous, EVEN expecting her first kid in just a couple of months, and made great use of the “house band” of Joey and Juels and Manu. Great show.
We do this every Tuesday. Signup before 7. I start at 7. 7112 Willow Avenue in Takoma Park, MD. robsopenmics.ilyaimy.com for more information. For information about the photos and videos and usage thereof, please click here!
