Before heading down to the Spark tonight I did some Sharif and Heather recording for Heather’s song “Caliber”. We made some music, grabbed some tacos, made some music, and then I went south to Takoma Park to make some music.
I apparently wasn’t in the mood to take a lot of photographs, I guess mostly because I was enjoying the night too much with Phillip Hough (pronounced HUFF) as our featured artist, and yet I remember feeling kinda dejected, so maybe I wasn’t in the mood to take a lot of photographs because I was too SAD to enjoy the night.
It’s happened.
The feature, Phillip, was joined by Chris Compton and their harmonies were just beyond the pale. Incredibly tight, beautifully intricate. I’d been kinda wondering what I was going to get for TOMORROW (Phillip’s our guest in the Lair tomorrow) and now I’m doubly, triply… quadfreakingduple excited.
Oh right – and then the open mic!
We do this every Tuesday. Signup before 7. I start at 7. 7112 Willow Avenue in Takoma Park, MD. robsopenmics.ilyaimy.com for more information. For information about the photos and videos and usage thereof, please click here!

Wait – what? No Juels Bland!? Actually I think I remember this night now. It was a little extra stressful because Juels was absent and for all that he’s kinda a Loose Cannon (!!) and Force of Chaos he DOES help out a lot, so there were a lot of variables. Heather helped make up for it a lot, but I was just running around crazy the whole night.
