A damned satisfying night. I won’t lie – the last couple of weeks have been awesome, but also stressful as Hell. Tonight was everything I needed out of a gig. We played our asses off, and then got slow and precious and emotional – and we had an audience that cared about the stories and cared about the words. Jason, the owner of Parallel Wine Bistro, has the venue that was the welcome home we needed, and we were well-fed and well taken care of and watered in the right way (whiskey for me and Grand Marnier for Heather) and the new soup was amazing and my only regret was that I didn’t get the shrimp and grits.
And it was SO good to play through my Thumps again. They’re just Earth-shaking. In a good way. In a Brick House way.
Yeeeah.
And now for the long drive home… hopefully nothing as long as the drive to get here.
I can hear Heather now: “WHY would you SAY that?!!?!”
