The Journal

Almost a quarter century of travel and time. Thinking out loud and to ourselves. Sometimes I regret what I say, but I figure it’s important we remember the stupid stuff too. Finding a way that the Journal can continue after a quarter century of existence (ish) has been a massive undertaking. I expect Susan to critique so that I can figure out how to make it work better for all of us!

  • WTF is up with ilyAIMY.com?
It’s “Pending”. It’s “In Progress”. It’s complicated. ilyAIMY.com will celebrate its 25th year in August, and over that time the hosting services I’ve used have been myriad. Not by intention, but because bigger businesses gobble up little businesses and as… Read more: WTF is up with ilyAIMY.com?
  • The Fourth of July.
For the past twenty years we’ve generally been playing the day of Independence Day so we don’t have TIME to go see fireworks. When Kristen and I first started dating, we tried to find the time – I think in… Read more: The Fourth of July.
  • The Music City Open Mic and a Weekend of Chaos.
Yesterday we played Annapolis’ “homegrown music festival” Eastport A’Rockin’ for the first time in twenty years. At least… I think that’s the truth and I’m sticking by it. • Dissolving Castine.
I’m listening back to the recording from Sunday night and I wish I could relive the night from the audience. Dan Blakeslee was (contrary to the way I usually tell the tale) my GIRLFRIEND’S RA in our freshman year of… Read more: Dissolving Castine.
  • Bad dreams.
Listening to Skribe in the background, I got up and worked out the kinks in my body – though I wouldn’t say I actually worked out – I ain’t sweaty enough for that. It’s been a quiet couple of days… Read more: Bad dreams.
  • Make Me a Disney Princess.
Achievement unlocked: I have touched a chipmunk. More accurately, a chipmunk has touched me. This morning I’ve managed to hurkle durkle on the front steps, which is not technically hurkle durkling as I wasn’t under the covers, but I WAS… Read more: Make Me a Disney Princess.
