Thursday June 23rd saw Kristen and I driving out to our friend Tom’s cabin out in Virginia. On the way we stopped at a fascinating kitsch kind of roadside kinda spectacular place. We spotted a Yoda and a lady and a lot of rabbits for the army and a couple of rhinos for Mosno!

Once we arrived at Tom’s place we met his girlfriend and her two Lovely dogs. They usually went the direction I wanted them to go, but they often did not. Django has pointy ears and is alert and almost caught a duck.
Moxy whas flopsome and charismatic and over the course of the weekend demonstrated very little in the way of survival instincts.

have I ever told you the tale of the Dobson Fly? Tis a nightmarish story. Fortunately, we only had a male dobson fly at the cabin that night…
Please note that that link has a little bit more about dobson flies, but also only promises to one day tell the story… I guess you’ll have to come to a show for that one!
Experimenting with some low-light photography out on the Shenandoah. Little did we know that the next night, it wouldn’t be low-light no moh!

The next morning hath dawned beautiful – we drink coffee as the Senandoah River passes by.

 though it was rough to walk on, the rocks on the trail made it feel like we were climbing to abandoned South American temples…

That’s no moon. That’s the same beautifully serene scene – but now “campers” have arrived in their massive RVs. Campers who apparently need a massive light to camp by.
I had to wander a bit in the dark to bea ble to see stars again… but I got’em!
One last bug from our weekend on the Shenendoah. Then we can come home!
